 The aims of Kultour Gatherings

The key aims are three-fold:

  • To contribute to the development of the practices of culturally and linguistically diverse artists in relation to contemporary, multidisciplinary arts in Australia;
  • To develop the profile of innovative, culturally diverse Australian art nationally; and
  • To gather information to support Kultour’s advocacy to the broader Australian cultural sector on the potential, the value and the significance of culturally diverse arts practice.

Kultour Gatherings  – Conceptual Laboratories

This series of Laboratories is designed to bring groups of artists and artsworkers exploring cultural diversity within the framework of contemporary, multidisciplinary and experimental arts in Australia together with a range of provocateurs who’s mission is to dissect, examine, expose, celebrate, challenge and inspire their practice.

The initiative was developed by Kultour and its national network of arts organisations to support conversations and exchange around work being created by culturally diverse artists that is innovative; challenges traditional perceptions of presentation and audience engagement; is experimental in nature; and may not yet have an established audience or a clear pathway for development or presentation.

Public and Industry Forums

The Public and Industry Forums will give the provocateurs an opportunity to present their discoveries from the 3 day laboratories, to a panel that is representative of each locations leading enablers, presenters, advocates and peers. Members of the public are invited ot attend this free session at their nearest location.
