Kultour 2010 Program Launch

On 4 February Kultour launched our 2010 program at the Arts Centre Melbourne. Kultourís CEO Magdalena Moreno also announced selected projects for the 2011 program and the event was punctuated by extraordinary performances by artists from both the 2010 and 2011 program: One Africa (King Marong and Lamine Sonko), one half of double-bill Mandinka Sound; Nefes Ensemble; Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal; and Zulya and the Children of the Underground. In attendance were Mr Diego Velasco, Consul General of Chile; Mr Aydin Nurhan Consul General of Turkey; Libby Christy, Executive Director of Arts Funding at the Australia Council for the Arts; Noris Ioannou, Chair of Kultour and Director of Nexus Multicultural Arts; and executive members of the Kultour board Jill Morgan of Multicultural Arts Victoria and Joanne Pratt of BEMAC, Queenslandís multicultural arts peak body.

We also proudly announced a new program stream Kapture, a strategic initiative program developed in partnership with the national network. It was an important day that celebrated the achievements of Kultour, articulated the future direction of the organisation, and showcased the great diversity of multicultural work on offer in Australia.
